Florida Writers Foundation, Inc. (FWF), is a 501[c]3 non-profit corporation formed to promote literacy, as well as enhancing the writing skills of children, youth, and adults. FWF volunteers and partners make a difference by visiting elementary schools for reading days, sponsoring poetry contests, donating books to under-privileged schools, and contributing funds to middle school writing contests.

The idea for Florida Writers Foundation began with Florida Writers Association's (FWA) leadership.  As more and more FWA members volunteered their time and money, Dan Griffith and Chrissy Jackson created a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit that allows donors to receive tax deductions for monetary and in-kind donations.  

Kaye's love for Florida Writers Association is legendary, and that love carried over to the Florida Writers Foundation.  Kaye had been an active volunteer from the start--helping to organize fundraisers, selecting speakers, and volunteering at FWF events--all the time working with an endless dedication and spunk that was all Kaye.
